Masternon is a brand name for which the well-known drug Drostanolone Propionate, which is very popular among bodybuilders, is an anabolic injectable steroid that was once used in medicine to treat breast cancer in women. However, because this remedy is distinguished by a high probability of virilization or a simpler appearance of male characteristics in women, it is not currently used medically.
One of the main advantages of drostanolone in bodybuilding is the lack of aromatization in the athlete’s body, ie it is not expected to be an estrogen – on the contrary, the substance acts as a major aromatase inhibitor.
Application in bodybuilding
Drostanolone propionate is actively used in sports (bodybuilding and strength training) – it is excellent for maintaining and increasing muscle mass and strength indicators, has a positive effect on the “drying” of the body and its entire cycle.
The substantial mixture of propionate and enanthate has relatively high androgenic activity, but the anabolic effect, by contrast, is moderate.
It is often used by athletes (including runners) who maintain the weight category they have achieved but do not have a significant impact on body weight and the direction of the increase.
Professional bodybuilders and athletes consider it the best anabolic tool because of its relatively wide range of properties:
- Give strength without reducing the percentage of fat (this feature is especially attractive for weights).
- Prevents catabolism and maintains muscle mass through diet.
- Indicators of power increase.
- Muscle strengthening (including testosterone ester).
- antiestrogenic effects.
The low anabolic index allows Masternon to burn fat, but at the same time the risk of various androgenic side effects.
These negative results can certainly be attributed to:
androgenic problems – increased aggression, hair loss, prostate hypertrophy and even the effect of bodybuilding (for women who exercise);
high blood cholesterol.
At the same time, however, this anabolic preparation has no adverse effects, such as fluid retention or an effect on the pressure indicator, and is of low toxicity.
